Administration Staff Biographies    


Betty Ojaye


Ms. Ojaye is from Shiprock, NM. Ms. Ojaye has received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU), Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of New Mexico (UNM) and Ed.S. Educational Administration, UNM, and has worked on Post Graduate studies at Arizona State University (ASU). She has served in the administrative capacity at Navajo Prep School for 18 years. Recently, Ms. Ojaye was the recipient of the 2007 New Mexico Woman Hall of Fame Inductee. She is married to Earl Crisp and has three daughters and three grandsons.

Mike Tillman
Assistant Dean of Instruction/Athletic Director

Mr. Tillman is from Duncan, Oklahoma and received his Bachelor of Science degree from New Mexico State University and his Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from New Mexico State University. Mr. Tillman is a former Coach, Teacher, Principal and Assistant Principal/Athletic Director. He is married to his wife Nancy and they have 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren.

   
   

Roderick Denetso

Dean of Student Life/ Student Success Coordinator

Clans are: Tsiniijinii, African American, Kinlichnee and African American.

Mr. Denetso is originally from Klaqetoh, AZ. and a graduate of Ganado High School in 1996. Mr. Denetso went on to pursue an athletic career at Arizona State University and a brief stint playing pro football overseas. Mr. Denetso received his B.S. degree in Family Studies and Human Development and thematic in education. Mr. Denetso has extensive work experience in behavioral health and social work. He has been at Navajo Prep for a year and a half. He enjoys giving back to the youth, is active in the community and is motivational speaker. In his free time he enjoys being with family and friends, playing sports and iTunes. Mr. Denetso reports “I am living the dream working at NPS with your children and our future leaders.”

   


Roberta Begay

Mrs. Begay was born in Manhattan New York and raised in the suburbs of Englewood Cliffs New Jersey. She graduated from high school at the age of 17 and moved to Tempe Arizona where she attended 4 years of college at Arizona State University majoring in Business Administration. In 1980 she met her husband Victor Begay and they they have three daughters and one grandson. Mrs. Begay returned to school and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Fort Lewis College.

   
   

David Biggs
Support Services Director

Mr. Biggs originated from Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended the University Of Cincinnati College Of Engineering. He is a Vietnam Era Veteran having served in the US Army and honorably discharged in 1975. Mr. Biggs has lived in the Farmington area for nearly 36 years of which 11 years were spent in the petroleum industry and 25 years in the construction industry. He has been a licensed general contractor in NM since 1998 and became a LEED AP BD+C (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional for Building Design and Construction) since 2007. He is presently the owner of David R Biggs Construction primarily involved with construction management and LEED Consulting Services. Mr. Biggs serves as the LEED instructor for the San Juan College Center for Workforce Training for community professional training and awareness for sustainable practices. He was the LEED Consultant for numerous Four Corners LEED Construction Projects. He also served as the construction manager for San Juan College for a number of years as well as commercial estimator and LEED Consultant for Jaynes Corporation. Mr. Biggs has been involved with facility operations for both San Juan College and San Juan Regional Medical Center.
