Next School Board Meeting

Board meetings are scheduled monthly and are normally held in the Conference Room in Dodge Hall on campus.

The Board of Trustees
 
Navajo Preparatory School, Inc. is governed by a four member Board of Trustees. Members are elected from the Navajo Nation Agencies, in accordance with Navajo Nation Election Laws, and one member is appointed as a non-voting ad-hoc member representing the NPS Student body. With the exception of the student member, board members serve a four-year term.
 
 
Edison Wauneka
President
Ft. Defiance

Mr. Wauneka has served on the NPS Board of Trustees since 2001 and was re-elected for his third consecutive term in 2008. Mr. Wauneka is from the Oak Springs Community and is currently the Executive Director of the Navajo Election Administration.

Elroy J. Watson
Vice-President
Western Agency / Chinle Agency

Mr. Watson has served on the NPS Board of Trustees since 2005 and was re-elected for his second consecutive term in 2008. Mr. Watson is from the Shonto Community and is currently the Dean of Students at the Charter Technology High School of Shonto Preparatory School.

Jennifer D. Laughter
Secretary / Treasurer
Northern Agency

Ms. Laughter is currently serving her first term on the NPS Board of Trustees. Ms. Laughter is from the Teec Nos Pos Community and currently resides in Shiprock, NM. Ms. Laughter previously served as a board member at Shiprock Alternative Schools, Inc., and at Dine Bi Olta School Board Association. Ms. Laughter is currently employed by the Navajo Housing Authority and serves the Northern Agency Representative on the Navajo Women's Commission.

Charley Long, Sr.
Member-At-Large
Eastern Agency

Mr. Long is currently serving his third term on the NPS Board of Trustees. Mr. Long previously served two terms on the Board of Trustees from January 1991 to December 2001. Mr. Long also served on the Navajo Board of Election Supervisors. Mr. Long is from the Thoreau Community.

Keifer Hanley
Ad-Hoc Member
Navajo Prep Student Senate

Keifer Hanley is a senior at Navajo Prep and is the President of the Student Senate. Mr. Hanley serves as a non-voting member on the Board of Trustees. Mr. Hanley is from the Mexican Hat Community in Utah.
